Bradford Town

Founded in 1992 by Les and Pat Stevens, Bradford Town F.C. began in Division Two of the Wiltshire League, playing home games at St Laurence School in Bradford on Avon. Early matches were modest affairs, with roped-off pitches, portable dugouts, and tea served from a car boot. After a brief stint at Trowbridge Town’s old ground, the club returned to Bradford in 1996, settling at Trowbridge Road—previously home to Spencer Moulton FC and Avon
Bradford FC.

Western League Rise (2005–2014)
Promotion to the Western League came in 2005–06 under Mark Hodkinson. In 2008–09, Paul Shanley and Mark Edwards led the team to a 3rd place finish and oversaw the installation of floodlights. A 100-seat stand followed, along with consistent top-six finishes. The pinnacle came in 2013–14 when Bradford won the Division One title by 13 points.

FA Vase Highlights & Leadership Changes (2015–2018)
Bradford’s first Premier Division season ended 8th, but their FA Vase run stole the spotlight, with a crowd of 621 witnessing a 4th Round win over Melksham Town. Another 8th place finish followed, alongside a strong FA Cup showing. In 2016, Shanley stepped down,
replaced by Danny Greaves and Aaron Wilson. Les Stevens retired as Chairman after 25 years, succeeded by Mark Hodkinson and Jon Phillips. The club finished 5th in 2016–17 and 4th in 2017–18, reaching the FA Vase 5th Round again before falling to Marske United.

Cup Glory & League Transition (2018–2022) Greaves departed for Frome Town in 2018, with Wayne Thorne taking over and guiding the team to 7th. The 2019–20 season saw another FA Vase 5th Round appearance and a strong league position before COVID-19 halted play. Leadership transitioned to Jon Phillips, and
Lee Davidson became manager with Jamie Lyons as assistant. Despite another pandemic-shortened season, Bradford won the League Cup in 2020–21. They moved to the Hellenic League Premier Division in 2021–22, finishing 6th.

Restructuring & Relegation (2022–2023)
In 2022, Jon Phillips and Mark Hodkinson stepped down, replaced by a new committee led by Steve Rose. Jamie Jordan became manager, assisted by Chris Carr and Robbie Simmonds, but the club was relegated. Carr took charge in 2023–24, leading Bradford to an 8th place finish in Western League Division One.

Promotion & Future (2024–2025)
The 2024–25 season featured an impressive 17-game unbeaten run, following an 11-game streak at the start. Despite a late dip in form, Bradford secured promotion back to Step 5 via the play-offs.

Onwards & Upwards (2025–2026)
Chris Carr successfully rebuilt a young squad capable of competing in the Western League Premier Division. The team performed admirably, securing a respectable 10th-place finish, facing Swindon Town in the Wiltshire Premier Shield, and reaching the Les Phillips League
Cup Final. Building on this progress, the Club Committee applied to join the Hellenic League and, following a successful appeal, the club now looks forward with excitement to the 2026/27 season.
